New category of travelers to Spain

Last Saturday June 5 the Spanish Government has officially published the Order nº INT/552/2021, including a new category of travelers to Spain which allows free entrance to Spain for those nationals of any third country who are vaccinated against Covid-19 and have the corresponding official certificate of vaccination. This Order is in force since June 7, 2021.

The vaccine must be any of the approved by the EMA or by the WHO.

The certificate of vaccination has to be in Spanish, English, French or German and state at least the following data:

– Holder’s name and surname
– Date of vaccination, indicating the date of the last dose received
– Type of vaccine
– Number of doses received/ complete course of vaccine
– Country that has issued the certificate
– Official body that has issued the certificate

Please note that the certificate of vaccination has to be issued by the competent authorities in the country of origin after 14 days following the date of the last dose received of the complete vaccination course.

Minors under 6 years are exempt from the obligation to have such certificate of vaccination.

Finally, until at least June 30, 2021, those foreigners who are not vaccinated and come from outside EU will be able to enter Spain only if they belong to any of the following categories:

(a) Residents in EU, Schengen zone, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican and San Marino
(b) Holders of long-term visas issued by EU member states or countries of Schengen zone
(c) Health care professionals going or coming back from their work place
(d) Staff dedicated to goods transport while performing their work
(e) Diplomatic staff
(f) Holders of student’s visa issued in EU member states and Schengen zone
(g) Highly qualified workers, whose work is required and cannot be postponed
(h) Individuals who travel for urgent family reasons
(i) Individuals who travel for majeure force reasons or extreme necessity
(j) residents of the following countries, non-members of EU, can enter Spain without restrictions:

– Australia
– China
– South Corea
– Israel
– Japan
– New Zealand
– Great Britain and North Ireland
– Ruanda
– Singapore
– Thailand
