Instagram has introduced a new interactive question sticker for its Stories that has quickly become a “must have” feature for the Influencers.
The question sticker allows your followers to ask questions to which you reply later and then hang in a Stories. Instagram says that “it’s a way to start conversations at times when you do not necessarily have a photo or video to share.”
However, we have seen how this new sticker tool has led to the haters posting all kinds of defamatory insults and threats against those who have dared to use this new tool.
An important fact about the question sticker: it is not anonymous. That means the user who poses the question is identifiable.
While it is true that the Influencers are subject to criticism from users of their sites, we should not confuse freedom of expression with insults, threats or harassment. That is a line that should not be crossed either in the public thoroughfare or on social networks.
Social networks give the impression of anonymity or impunity, but it is a false one. Nowadays, it is very easy to identify the person behind the events or the coward who hides behind a pseudonym.
Once this person has been traced, it is possible to take criminal actions against whoever is the perpetrator of insults or slander. Indeed, you can protect your name and reputation by means of a civil jurisdictional claim.
